Graded by PSA MINT 9. One of the top rookie cards from the 1960s, this card hails from the vaunted high number series of 1967. Enter the newest member of the Tom Seaver PSA MINT 9 club, freshly plucked from a raw collection hidden away for the last 40 years. According to our consignor, he went to card shows in the late 70s and early 80s, back when the dealers used to have 'binders full of Seaver and Ryan rookies.' Being a true blue (and orange) New York Mets fan, he carefully selected the best cards of each player he could find, focusing on centering, MINT corners and overall eye appeal. He selected this Seaver rookie card, which lay in the same binder at his home for the last four decades, only to be unearthed and presented here at auction for the first time. Only THREE examples of the Tom Seaver rookie card grade higher than this MINT specimen.
