Description

The Scientology founder swaps his Hammond organ

Pulp and science-fiction author (1911-1986) who became a lightning rod for controversy as the founder of the Church of Scientology. TLS, one page, 8 x 10, personal letterhead, February 13, 1975. Letter to Baldwin Organs in New York, in part: "I have a new, unused Porta B. Hammond. It does not suit my recording needs and I would like to turn it in on another make such as Baldwin that would be double manual, portable and suitable for band work. The organ I am turning in was purchased in the US but is presently outside the country and would have to be re-imported. Please send me brochures on your portable organs, with prices, and probable turn-in value of the Porta B." In fine condition, with staple holes to the upper left. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope.
