American forger (1887-1950?) who forged letters from American luminaries. Joseph Cosey forgery of a handwritten poem signed “Mary Baker Eddy,” one page, 5.5 x 7, December 1905. In full: "To my beloved student Miss Sarah Howard. To sigh yet feel no pain,— / To weep—yet scarce know why, / To sport an hour with Beauty's chain, / Then throw it idly by: / To kneel at many a shrine, / Yet lay the heart on none? / To think all other charms divine, / But those we just have won." In fine condition, with removed clipping residue to the upper right corner.
