First baseball commissioner (1866-1944), who was elected to office on November 12, 1920, and helped restore public confidence in baseball following the Black Sox scandal of 1919. TLS signed “K. M. Landis,” one page, 8.5 x 11, personal 'Baseball' letterhead, May 13, 1924. Letter to S. D. Green, in part: "Will you be good enough to send me a copy of the letter respecting which you inquire. So far as I know, there can be no objection, but I would like to see the letter before it is given publicity." In very good condition, with edge toning, foxing, and a tear to the top.
