Civil War-dated printed orders, one page, 5 x 8, December 4, 1863. Issued at Richmond, Virginia, headed "General Orders, No. 159," issued by "S. Cooper, Adjutant and Inspector General." In full: "I. Hospitals for prisoners of war are placed on the same footing as other C. S. hospitals in all respects, and will be managed accordingly. II. The hospital ration is now fixed, until further orders, at the same rates of issues now made to soldiers in the field. If a greater allowance is required of any particular articles, special requisitions must be made therefor." In fine condition.
