TLS signed “R. E. Byrd,” one page, 8.5 x 11, Byrd Arctic Expedition letterhead, November 28, 1926. Letter to James B. Pond of the Pond Lecture Bureau, in part: "I got your urgent letter about changing the films. I wonder if you can realize what a job that would be. It would take at least one week of solid work. I have worked, and worked, and worked—and then some, on these films to get the story like it is now and it is good. It would be impossible to get it like it is now because I have taken parts from the 14,000 feet of film we had. I had to run all over that. The negative of this picture I have is not together—it's all over the place. I am awfully sorry. I would like to accommodate you and co-operate with you in the matter, also the people we are to talk for, but I am afraid it can't be done. I simply haven't got the time to do it, and it would be utterly impossible for Pathe to do it, for any price…I am glad the people like my lectures. We had a fine house at Buffalo yesterday and a most enthusiastic audience." In fine condition, with a rusty paperclip impression to the tope edge, and paper loss to the upper left corner.
