Two pieces of Space Shuttle-related hardware:
A "Cast Premelt Controller" likely used for one of the metals and alloys experiments conducted on Spacelab, measuring approximately 7 x 9 x 7, marked with part numbers on the side, "14981-96M80805-1-S102." The unit has a temperature readout display at the top, a module selector, "set point" adjustment knob, and two toggle switches. Several pieces of Velcro are affixed to the back and sides. In fine condition.
An interesting gas flow meter built by engineers at Marshall Spaceflight Center and used in Space Shuttle testing, measuring approximately 7 x 11 x 6, with a hinged cover bearing an engraved plate with operating instructions. The meter inside is made of gold anodized metal and has a large on-off switch to the upper right with a pressure gauge at center. Three "Open/Shut" switches correspond to calibrated orifices on the reverse of the case, which are housed underneath a magnetic cover. The meter probably used pressure drop to determine flow rate. In fine condition.
