Captain of the Carpathia (1869-1940) responsible for rescuing Titanic survivors on the morning of April 15, 1912. Magnificent matte-finish 8.25 x 12 portrait of Captain Arthur Henry Rostron in uniform by Hall's Studio of Times Square, New York, boldly signed and inscribed in fountain pen, "In memory of pleasant days spent at the 'Crossways,' New York, A: H: Rostron.” Framed and in fine condition. An exceedingly rare piece, this is just the third signed photo of Rostron that we have offered—and it is a truly spectacular example.
