Untranslated letter to a friend, mentioning the short story collection Les Soirees de Medan. In fine condition, with scattered light foxing and a paperclip impression to the top edge. Les Soirees de Medan was a collection of six short stories authored by Zola, Guy de Maupassant, Joris-Karl Huysmans, Henri Ceard, Leon Hennique, and Paul Alexis; the title was taken from the name of Zola's home near Versailles, where the writers often gathered together.
