Description

Influential French physicist (1775-1836) who pioneered the discovery and understanding of electromagnetism; a unit of electric current was named in his honor. Bold ink signature, "A. Ampere,” on an off-white 7 x 9.25 sign-in page, headed: "Signatures des Membres Presens." Also signed by several other French scientists, including Georges Cuvier, Augustin Pyramus de Candolle, Aime Bonpland, Joseph Louis Gay-Lussac, Simeon Denis Poisson, Etienne Geoffroy Saint-Hilaire, and Alexandre Brongniart. In fine condition.
