Description

TLS signed “Ron,” 6.25 x 8.5, personal letterhead, September 14, 1992. Letter to Lydia Hupfer McArthur, in full: "Nancy and I wish you the happiest of birthdays. Our thoughts and affections are with you, and we hope you have a grand celebration. We wish you every happiness on your special day and always. If anyone has wonderful, warm memories to share, you certainly do. Happy 99th Birthday and God bless you. With our warmest regards." In fine condition, with a bit of light creasing. Lydia Hupfer ‘Hup’ MacArthur was the widow of Pete MacArthur, program director of WOC in Davenport, Iowa. In 1932, MacArthur had given a then 21-year-old Reagan his first job as a sports announcer. They would remain friends until her passing at the age of 102 in 1995.
