Jewish-Hungarian author (1905-1983) best known for the anti-Stalinist novel Darkness at Noon. TLS signed “A. Koestler,” one page, 6.25 x 8, personal letterhead, November 14, 1978. In part: "Re. 'Diebe in der Nacht [Thieves in the Night].' I wrote a postscript to the Danube edition of this novel (Hutchinson, 1965) which I think puts the book into historical perspective. It could be shortened a little and used either as a preface or as a postscript to the new German edition." In fine condition, with two file holes to the left edge.
