DS, signed “Paul Simon" and "Arthur Garfunkel,” one page, 8.5 x 11, October 3, 1966. Letter addressed to Van Bernard Productions, in which Simon and Garfunkel authorize and direct said company to forward compensation to the William Morris Agency for their "services on 'The Red Skelton Hour,'" which aired on September 20, 1966. Signed at the conclusion in black ballpoint by Simon and Garfunkel. In fine condition, with scattered light creasing and faint overall toning. Simon and Garfunkel made their television debut on September 20, 1966, when they appeared on an episode of the long-running NBC variety program The Red Skelton Show. The episode featured Mickey Rooney as the special guest, and Simon and Garfunkel performed 'I Am A Rock' from their Sounds of Silence album, and 'The Dangling Conversation' from their forthcoming Parsley, Sage, Rosemary and Thyme. A fantastic document precisely dating to the duo's mainstream breakthrough.
