DS, signed “Albert Romolo Broccoli,” nine pages, 8 x 13, July 1, 1961. Contract between Warfield Productions, Inc., and Broccoli, in which the latter agrees "to render his services…as a producer of feature length motion pictures and in such other capacities…for a period of five years…at the rate of $40,000 per annum." Signed at the conclusion in blue ballpoint by Broccoli. Also included is an official agreement letter addressed to Broccoli by Warfield Productions, two pages, 8 x 13, July 7, 1961, in part: "This is to advise you that we are proposing to loan your services as Feature Motion Picture Producer to Danjaq S.A., a Swiss Corporation, to act as Co-Producer of a feature length motion picture presently entitled 'Doctor No' to be based on the novel of the same title written by Ian Fleming." Broccoli signs his approval at the conclusion in blue ballpoint, "A. R. Broccoli." In overall fine condition, with expected document wear. Alongside Canadian producer Harry Saltzman, Broccoli produced the first James Bond film, Dr. No, in 1962, through the parent production company Danjaq LLC, which was named after the first names of their respective wives—Dana and Jacqueline. In spite of mixed critical reviews, Dr. No proved a financial success, and marked the beginning of a partnership between Broccoli and Saltzman that would last until 1975. A magnificent early contract that represents Broccoli's entrance into the world of Agent 007.
