Collection of over 40 items signed by screen legend Lillian Gish, consisting mostly of letters and photographs addressed or inscribed to “Lewis Worman,” including: two ballpoint signatures on individual off-white sheets, one bearing an affixed image of Gish and inscribed to “Lewis”; a handwritten pencil note on an off-white 7.25 x 3.25 sheet, signed with her initials, “L. G.”; an ALS on the inside of a greeting card, measures 5.5 x 8.75 open, postmarked February 15, 1985; an ANS on an off-white 5.25 x 4.25 sheet, in part: “The scene was just as you see it—We could have been killed!! Young people have no fear. That is why they send them to wars”; an assemblage of 19 TLSs and TNSs, dated between 1976 and 1988, with several bearing handwritten closings in Gish’s own hand, and three accompanied by their original mailing envelopes; and a grouping of eighteen photos, mostly glossy or matte-finish, ranging in size from 3.5 x 5 to 8 x 10.25, depicting Gish at various stages of her career, each signed in ink or felt tip; one vintage matte-finish photo by the Hoover Art Co., is also signed in fountain pen by Dorothy Gish.
