Description

Queen Consort to Edward VII of England (1844-1925) and mother of George V. Vintage matte-finish 6.5 x 8.5 W. & D. Downey portrait of King Edward VII and Queen Alexandra of Denmark, affixed to its original studio mount, signed in the lower border of the photo and the mount in fountain pen entirely by the queen, "Edward VII, Alexandra, 1910, Our Last Opening of Parliament." Displayed in the original presentation frame embellished with royal monogram to an overall size of 12.25 x 14.5; window on reverse of frame shows transmittal letter addressed to "Sir Henry," dated January 11, 1911. In very good to fine condition, with some damage to the otherwise handsome original frame.
