Appointment for Charles John Bruce Hay as an "Ordinary Member of the Military division of the Third Class or Companions of Our said Most Honorable Order of the Bath." Signed on behalf of King George V in the upper right by his two sons. Blindstamped in the upper left corner. Cloth-matted and framed to an overall size of 19 x 22. In fine condition, with scattered light foxing and a central horizontal fold. In hopes of improving his deteriorating health, King George V retired for three months to Craigweil House, Aldwick, in the seaside resort of Bognor, Sussex, arriving February 9, 1929, and leaving on May 15, 1929.
