Description

LS as president, one page, 6.25 x 8.25, White House letterhead, February 19, 1906. Letter to Mrs. John A. McCall of New York, in full: "Will you permit me to offer you my most sincere sympathy? I know how little any words avail in a time of such overmastering grief. But I have long been a friend of your husband, and he was a firm friend of mine; and I beg you will allow me to tell you how deeply I feel for and with you." Matted and framed to an overall size of 10.25 x 12.5. In fine condition, with three horizontal folds and a small stain to the right edge.
