One-of-a-kind collection of Brad Delp's home movies and candid photographs from Boston's 1979 tour of Japan, consisting of 44 rolls of Super 8 video tape (33 of which remain in their Kodak boxes). Some of this footage was shot by Brad Delp himself, and some was by taken his wife Micki Delp, who notes: 'This footage has never been seen by anyone but Brad and I. It was a new camera and he didn't know the aperture was stuck open so some of it is washed out.' Most of the boxes are annotated by Micki as to the contents of the media, with some of the more interesting reels labeled: "Bukodan sound check starring Sib," "Osaka Debut f/ Bosstones - Backstage," "Osaka sound check, 2nd Day, Tokyo backstage (Fran)," "Show in Tokyo, 'Don't Be Afraid,'" "Brad's Fans, New Otani Press Conf," "Fish Market Fukoka, Squid - good," and "Leaving Bean Town." Five boxes are labeled by Brad Delp himself, three marked "Oakland Setup," one marked, "1st half blank, 2nd half - Kings Alley," and one marked, "Aquarium - forget about it, last 10 sec. indoors OK." The still photos consist of 25 original vintage color candids, mostly 4.5 x 3.25, showing the band engaging in tourism throughout Japan. Also includes an original 20.5 x 28.5 poster for Boston's "Cherry Blossom Tour '79," an unpeeled Japanese promo sticker for the tour, and a telegram sent to Delp from a Japanese promoter. In overall very good to fine condition, with creasing and paper loss to edges of the poster. From the Brad Delp Collection, and accompanied by a letter of provenance from Micki Delp.
