Description

Brad Delp's Danvers Savings Bank deposit book, twelve pages, 3.5 x 4.5, with the earliest deposit of $25.25 dating to January 30, 1967, when Delp was just 15 years old. The pages record small withdrawals and deposits over the course of the next several years, pausing for a three-year period beginning October 1973, at which time the balance of the account is just $17.38. The next activity occurs on December 23, 1976—four months after the release of Boston's debut album—with the deposit of a whopping $12,500. The balance then dwindles over the next four years, with the last activity recorded in August 1980. In very good to fine condition. Accompanied by a carbon copy of Delp's American Express receipt for a stay at Walt Disney World's Contemporary Resort Hotel in March 1988, bearing the carbon impression of his signature; stapled to the document is the hotel's receipt. Also includes a small satin-finish photo of Delp with Goofy at Disney World—which Micki Delp notes was Brad's favorite place in the world. An interesting chronicle of Delp's finances from his early life through his journey to stardom. From the Brad Delp Collection, and accompanied by a letter of provenance from Micki Delp.
