World War II-dated TLS, one page, 8 x 10.5, Headquarters First United States Army letterhead, December 14, 1944. Letter to Emma Bracken, in full: "Enclosed you will find the picture which I have autographed as you requested. The First Army shoulder patch is likewise enclosed." Removably corner-mounted to the lower right of the sheet is the referenced unused, embroidered "First Army" shoulder patch; the picture is not included. In very good to fine condition, with light staining and creasing along intersecting folds.
