Vintage Track Records promo card for The Jimi Hendrix Experience from October 1967, 4 x 6, signed in red ballpoint, "Jimi Hendrix," "Noel Redding," and "Mitch." The reverse sides lists various Track Records releases: "Hey Joe / Stone Free," "Purple Haze / 51st Anniversary," "The Wind Cries Mary / Highway Chile," "The Burning of the Midnight Lamp / The Stars That Play with Laughing Sam's Dice," and "Are You Experienced (LP)." In very good to fine condition, with old adhesive residue and a tack hole to the top edge, scattered light creasing, and moderate contrast to all three signatures. Accompanied by a full letter of authenticity from PSA/DNA. The consignor notes that the promo card and signatures were obtained at Queens College's Whitla Hall in Belfast, Ireland, on November 27, 1967, at a concert billed as ‘Festival of Arts.’ Also on the bill were Syd Barrett-era Pink Floyd, The Move, The Nice, Amen Corner, The Outer Limits. and Eire Apparent. The 27th happened to be Jimi’s 25th birthday, and he was given a birthday cake by the festival organizers. 1967 proved to be the most significant year in the brief life span of The Jimi Hendrix Experience—their full-length debut, Are You Experienced, was released in the UK and USA in May and August; Hendrix famously lit his Fender Stratocaster on fire at the June 1967 Monterey Pop Festival; and their second studio masterpiece, Axis: Bold as Love, was released in the UK in early December. An immensely appealing promo card signed by the band during their most productive period.
