Superb dark purple double-row tambourine with a 10″ open head, used on stage by Prince and thrown into the crowd during his show at the St. Paul Civic Center on December 24, 1984, during the Purple Rain Tour. Taped to the side of the tambourine are the ticket stub from the show and one of Wendy Melvoin's stage-used guitar picks which was also thrown into the crowd. In fine condition, with expected wear from use. Accompanied by a provenance statement from the consignor, in part: "This tambourine was thrown to the crowd…by Prince Himself. I happened to be the lucky one to catch it since I was in the second row on the main floor. During the concert Prince's guitarist Wendy also threw a guitar pick into the crowd…I felt something hit me in the forehead…I picked it up and realized it was Wendy's guitar pick." An exceptional stage-used relic from Prince's legendary tour.
