George was the fourth son of George V of the United Kingdom and his queen, Mary of Teck, (born 1902) who held the title of Duke of Kent from 1934 until his death in a military air-crash in 1942. Marina (1906-1968) was the daughter of Prince Nicholas of Greece and Denmark and Grand Duchess Elena Vladimirovna of Russia. Vintage matte-finish 9.75 x 12 full-length photo of Prince George, Duke of Kent posing with Princess Marina of Greece and Denmark and their German Shepherd, signed in fountain pen, "Marina" and "George," who adds "Dushka" below the dog, as well as the date, "May 26, 1935." In fine condition, with light silvering along the edges. A highly appealing portrait of the couple less than a year into their marriage.
