ALS, three pages on two adjoining sheets, 4.25 x 7, no date. Interesting letter mentioning Louis Spohr and Clara Schumann, in part: "I was so hard at work those last few days with rehearsals etc. that I found it impossible to call…I cannot come on Friday, and let me hope that we shall be able to fix a day for the 'Barcarole of Spohr' and other good music on Saturday, when I will be sure to call after the morning performance…I told Madame Schumann your kind message on Monday, and she feels truly obliged for your proposition to see the pictures. She will try to arrange her teaching one day so as to be able to go to Hereford House with you." In very good to fine condition, with show-through on the final page from old mounting remnants on the reverse, and small edge separations to folds.
