TLS, one page, 8.5 x 11, Linus Pauling Institute of Science and Medicine letterhead, May 12, 1975. Letter to Marylou Bonet, in part: "It is difficult to say what the single most important discovery of this century is. There are so many discoveries that have been made that are basic to our present understanding of the world, and their interaction with one another is also so great, that it is hard to select one. Nevertheless, I may say that I think the discovery of the theory of relativity by Einstein might be considered the greatest single discovery. The discovery of quantum theory is in the same category, but in fact this discovery consists of a large number of individual discoveries, beginning with the work of Planck in 1900 and extending throughout the 1920's, when quantum mechanics was formulated essentially in its present form." In fine condition.
