English composer (1842-1900) best known for his operatic collaborations with W. S. Gilbert, including H.M.S. Pinafore, The Pirates of Penzance, and The Mikado. AMQS on an off-white 3.5 x 4.5 sheet, signed below in black ink, "Arthur S. Sullivan, Brighton, 18 Feb. 1871." Sullivan pens eight bars of music from one of his works, marking the tempo, "Alla vivace." In fine condition, with some light toning.
