Description

Prokofiev's Romeo and Juliet

Eminent and prolific Russian composer (1891-1953) best known for his colorful, rhythmically vigorous works, including symphonies, operas, and much music for keyboard and chamber ensembles. AMQS on an off-white 5 x 3.25 card, signed in blue ink, "Sergei Prokofieff, Moscow, 1939." Prokofiev boldly pens four bars of music from "Romeo and Juliet," which he titles above his signature. An outstanding and particularly showy example. In fine condition, with old mounting remnants on the reverse. Accompanied by an unsigned photo and a full letter of authenticity from JSA.
