In fine condition, with some scattered scuffs and scratches. Accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from Tracks. 'Preservation' is a non-album single that despite being related to the two Preservation albums lyrically, was not released on either. The song was first released as a standalone US single with 'Salvation Road,' the closing track of Preservation Act 2. Acetate discs, also known as reference lacquers, look similar to typical vinyl records, but differ drastically in that they are used only in the production process and are not usually available to the general public. Their purpose is to allow producers, artists, and sound engineers to double-check the quality of a final recording for any flaws or errors before it is sent off for mass production and release. Whereas a vinyl record is mass-produced with a stamp, an acetate is created using a recording lathe to cut the grooves into a blank disc in real time, an extremely exacting process that ensures the most precise recording possible.
