Welsh political cartoonist (1902-1979) best known for his work for the Daily Mail and for becoming the chief cartoonist at the British satirical periodical Punch. Original pen and ink sketch of a gentleman examining auction lots accomplished by Illingworth on an off-white 11.5 x 13.25 illustration board, signed and inscribed at the bottom, "For Cate & Sinclair, Leslie Illingworth." In fine condition, with light toning and a stain to the lower right corner tip.
