Description

One of Japan's most skilled fliers, Fuchida (1902-1976) commanded the air attack against Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941, and was the last to leave the battle area. After World War II, Fuchida converted to Christianity and became a nondenominational preacher, traveling frequently to America and later becoming a US citizen. FDC with a cachet honoring the gift of a Japanese Peace Bell to the United Nations, signed in English and Japanese in fountain pen, "Mitsuo Fuchida." In fine condition.
