Written from Nome, Alaska, Amundsen extends a two-word note of appreciation to Alfred M. Collins, the president of the Geographical Society of Philadelphia: "Hearty thanks." In fine condition, with pin holes to the upper left corner area. Collins was a well-known explorer and sportsman who made several trips to Africa and other regions in search of big game.
