One of the most incredible aspects of the Dan Schaiewitz Collection is the astounding assortment of vintage NASA photographs. As an integral part of KSC’s PLSS training, most notably on the first lunar landing mission, he actually took part in these amazing behind-the-scenes moments: Dan himself tested Armstrong’s space suit. Offered here are exceptionally rare Apollo 11 red-numbered training photographs, many of them quite possibly never-before-seen by collectors and offered here for the first time. From the collection of Dan Schaiewitz, who worked as Extravehicular Crew Training Engineer at KSC. View Dan's many Collect Space posts here. Engineer Dan Schaiewitz gives us a fascinating firsthand glimpse into his experiences on the cutting edge of space exploration during the Apollo missions, in this podcast.
