Description

Harrison vexes over his songs in Doctor Dolittle

Amusing ALS signed “Rex,” four pages on two sheets, 6.25 x 8, Villa San Genesio letterhead, July 14, [1967]. Letter to composer Leslie Bricusse, in part: "One thing has become clear to me that the first act numbers are in essence correct in general feeling and orchestral tracks, altho I must do them all over…Both second act numbers, my piece in 'Fabulous Place,' and 'I think I like you' have utterly wrong colours—the first must have more of a clash between Dolittle & Emma it's terribly dull & musical comedy the whole bit & 'I think I like you' much too sentimental. It should be grudging and harder its a real fuck up the way I have it. I suppose we fell in love with the melody." In fine condition.
