The third booklet, entitled "Apollo Portable Life Support Systems," issued as "B231A" and containing 146 pages, explains the basic function and operation and lists the salient component parameters for the following Second Generation Apollo Portable Life Support Elements: Portable Life Support System (PLSS), Oxygen Purge System (OPS), Buddy Secondary Life Support System (BSLSS), and Pressure Control Valve (PCV).
