Manuscript DS in French, signed “Alfonso,” one page, 8.5 x 11, June 7, 1883. Document conferring an award of the Royal Order of Charles III upon his "cousin," Prince Nicolas of Montenegro. In fine condition. The Royal and Distinguished Spanish Order of Charles III was established in 1771, and is the most distinguished civil award that can be granted in Spain, despite its categorization as a military order.
