Description

Detailed original sketch by Curtis in his own autobiography

Signed book: Tony Curtis: The Autobiography. First edition. NY: William Morrow and Company, 1993. Hardcover with dust jacket, 6.5 x 9.5, 352 pages. Signed and inscribed on the first free end page in black felt tip, "Frank, Tony Curtis," who fills the entire page with a wonderful sketch of the inside of a room or office, a scene dominated by a bureau with flowered vase, picture frame, books, fruit plate, and cat pawing at a fishbowl; other room details include a rug, ornate wallpaper, and an open window. In fine condition. Consignor notes that this originates from the estate of novelist Jackie Collins, and that the original recipient was her fiance Frank Calcangnini. A thoughtful and highly creative sketch design that Curtis doubtlessly took his time in completing.
