Description

Galeazzo Ciano

Italian foreign minister and son-in-law of Benito Mussolini who was dismissed from the government and executed at Mussolini's behest (1903-1944). Vintage semi-glossy 5 x 7 photo of Ciano posing with other gentleman during an Italian art exhibition at the Museum of Jeu de Paume in Paris, signed and inscribed in French in fountain pen, and adding the date below, "Paris. 16. Mai. 1935." Reverse bears caption text and an "Agence ROL" stamp. In fine condition, with trimmed top and bottom borders. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope and transmittal letter from the office of the state secretary, dated May 26, 1935.
