Handwritten pencil notations by Prince on an off-white 11 x 8.5 sheet bearing a preprinted logo for his Glam Slam nightclub in Minneapolis, a design created for various merchandize to be sold at the nightclub. Prince adds quick directions for a revamped Glam Slam logo, "lose heart go with more 90's look example," and draws an arrow leading to his own sketch of the new "Glam Slam" logo consisting of a unique genderqueer symbol; an erased first sketch attempt by Prince can be faintly seen to the left side. Surrounding ink and pencil notations in an unknown hand. In fine condition, with a central vertical fold. From the collection of costume designer Helen Hiatt and accompanied by a letter of provenance. Named after a song from his 1988 album Lovesexy, Prince opened the Glam Slam nightclub in late 1989. The Minneapolis spot was the first of three other high profile Glam Slams, with Miami, Los Angeles, and Yokohama all opening in the early 1990s. A highly displayable original sketch by Prince, representing both his famed dance hall and the gender fluidity that characterized his innovative and flamboyant style.
