Letter to Miss Elizabeth Higginson, in part; "I was saddened to hear of the departure of our dear old friend…But with her it is well. Old age with her was not as Ossin called 'dark and unlovely,' it was genial, cheerful." In fine condition. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope addressed in Whittier's hand.
