Description

ALS, four pages on two adjoining sheets, 7.25 x 9, April 10, 1843. Letter to J. Chapman, in part: "Since I last wrote to you, a very considerable change has suddenly taken place in my affairs. By the inheritance of some property & the co-operation of my friend, Lord Exmouth, I have offered the entire satisfaction of every judgment wh: exists against me, & on the 24th of this month every one will be erased. I have only one claim against me, wh: is not supported by a judgment, & I have little doubt from which has transpired, that a fair offer in ready money wd settle it. I am this day negotiating with that object." In fine condition.
