TLS signed “Matt,” one page, 7.25 x 10.5, personal letterhead, August 30, 1967. Letter to Lt. General Geoffrey Keyes, in part: "I moved the 5´ steel filing cabinets in my Study closet today, and found the enclosed Certificate of appointment of my dear Classmate, Ray Harrison, as a West Point Cadet. It came to me from the Military Academy long after both Ray and Cita had passed on. I had written to ask the circumstances and all Headquarters could tell me was that it had been received from the Post Office in Pittsburgh with the notation 'Found loose in the mail.' That I should long since have put the family in possession of this document goes without saying. As best I can remember, I tried to trace it, meanwhile putting it aside to await results. Evidently it fell behind the cabinet. I forgot it. It only turned up to day. My sincere apologies to all members of the family. I send it to you, not knowing the address of any of the others." In fine condition, with a stain to the lower left corner.
