Description

A souvenir program for the 1967 Herman's Hermits US tour with supporting acts The Who and Blues Magoos, 12 x 12, 22 pages, primarily featuring images of Herman's Hermits, plus a few related advertisements. In very good to fine condition, with scattered creasing and foxing. This was The Who’s first American tour, opening for Herman's Hermits in what is now recognized as a humorously lopsided bill. Who drummer Keith Moon earned his famous reputation for destroying hotel rooms during the tour; on Moon's 21st birthday—August 23, 1967—after a gig in Flint, Michigan, he managed to deal $24,000 worth of damage by blowing up a toilet with a cherry bomb, emptying the fire extinguishers, having a food fight with his birthday cake, and rolling a Lincoln Continental into a swimming pool, in addition to knocking out one of his own teeth. Roger Daltrey later said that the tour brought the band closer, because as the supporting act they could perform a short show without any major responsibilities.
