Description

Neo's shooting script for The Matrix

Two items: a TLS signed "Keanu," one page, 8.25 x 11.75, March 30 [1998], written on the back of script page for the film The Matrix, addressed to "Jackie," in full: "Here it is the script, whites blues pinks, The Matrix, Oh I just noticed as I took the script from my bag we have a new color, Welcome yellow, Anyway, here it is, hope you enjoy it, salut." Also included is Reeve's personal fastener-bound revised shooting script for The Matrix, 8.25 x 11.75, 122 pages, March 29, 1998, with the front cover stamped "270" and annotated in the upper left corner, "Thomas Anderson," the given name of Reeves' Neo character. In overall fine condition, with scattered creasing to the letter. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope, dated April 1, 1998, sent from Matrix Films Pty Ltd., in Mascot, Australia. Released on March 31, 1999, The Matrix went on to become the fourth highest-grossing film of the year, earned four Academy Awards, and reignited Reeves' career as one of Hollywood's top action stars. The majority of The Matrix was filmed at Fox Studios in Sydney, and in the city itself, a decision that helped establish New South Wales as a major film production center.
