Description

Silver-and-black poster designed by Ramones art director Arturo Vega commemorating the 10th anniversary of the CBGB music club in New York City, 22.5 x 34.5, showing a large central "X" surrounded and filled with dozens of dates and musical acts from the club's first ten years. Matted and framed to an overall size of 28.75 x 40.5. In fine condition. The Ramones played their first public performance at CBGB's on August 16, 1974. They played at CBGB almost exclusively during their first three years as a band, subsequently transforming the 'Country, Bluegrass, and Blues' club into a legitimate punk rock haven. This was displayed as part of the “Hey! Ho! Let’s Go: Ramones and the Birth of Punk” exhibit at the Queens Museum in New York from April 10, 2016-July 31, 2016, and the Grammy Museum at L.A. Live from September 16, 2016-February 28, 2017, and is accompanied by the Grammy Museum’s inventory label. From the Monte A. Melnick Ramones Collection.
