Partly-printed DS as president, signed “R. B. Hayes,” one page, 16.5 x 13.5, March 31, 1880. President Hayes appoints Guido C. Hinchman as "Postmaster at Dover, in the County of Morris, State of New Jersey." Signed at the conclusion by Hayes, and countersigned by Postmaster General David M. Key. Double-matted and framed with a descriptive plaque to an overall size of 24 x 21. In fine condition, with splitting to the left side of the horizontal fold, and light ribbon-related toning near Hayes' signature.
