Description

Partly-printed vellum DS as president, signed “J. Q. Adams,” one page, 13.25 x 8.75, March 30, 1825. President Adams grants William Rankin, "assigned by James M. Broom," a parcel of land in Jeffersonville, Indiana, "containing one Hundred and sixty acres." Signed at the conclusion by President Adams and countersigned by Commissioner of the General Land Office George Graham. The white paper seal remains affixed to lower left corner. Triple-matted and framed with a descriptive plaque for a different document to an overall size of 22.75 x 18.25. In very good to fine condition, with moderate overall rippling, and a tear and some paper loss along one of the folds.
