Selection of nine items signed by or related to a notable writer, including: a partly printed DS, filled out and signed by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow within the text, dated May 1, 1868, signed again by Longfellow on the docketing panel; a manuscript DS regarding a land lease agreement, dated February 26, 1772, signed at the conclusion by Samuel, John, and Abigail Longfellow; an ink signature of Ernest W. Longfellow on an off-white 3.75 x 1.25 slip; an ALS signed by James Russell Lowell, one page, both sides, dated November 25, 1884; an ALS, signed by James F. Rhodes, one page, both sides, dated October 16, 1916; and four items related to W. Somerset Maugham, including a contract, letter, telegram, and a photograph, the first three relating to iterations of the novel Of Human Bondage. In overall very good condition, with a clean separation along horizontal fold to Longfellow document, and scattered toning and creasing. Accompanied by two engravings, and the original mailing envelope for the Rhodes letter.
