Description

DS, eight pages, 8.5 x 11, June 15, 1955. Minutes of a meeting of the Motion Picture Industry Council, in part: "Lou Greenspan then brought up a matter which directly concerns the Screen Actors' Guild but which is also a general public problem of the industry. It concerns the great volume of unclaimed mail addressed to actors and actresses at studios where they are no longer working. Very little attempt is made at most of the studios to forward this mail. It finally goes to the Dead Letter Office in San Francisco where every attempt is made to return it to the original senders, and if this is impossible, the mail is destroyed. Thus thousands and thousands of letters go unanswered every year." Signed at the conclusion in blue ink by Reagan as the organization’s secretary and countersigned by Lou Greenspan as executive secretary. Minutes are housed in an original heavy hard bound binder embossed in gilt "Motion Picture Industry Council, 1955.” In fine condition.
