Superb matte-finish 5 x 3.25 postcard photo of Petain triumphantly entering Metz on horseback on November 19, 1918, signed in black ink, "Ph. Petain." Matted to an overall size of 7 x 5.5. In fine condition, with areas of light silvering. The armistice had been signed only a week earlier on November 11, ending World War I in victory for the Allies.
